LUZERNE COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM:
AUTOMATED SERVICES COORDINATOR

The Luzerne County Library System (LCLS) Wilkes-Barre, PA is searching for an Automated Services Coordinator. LCLS serves a population of 331,317 through a system headquarters library, nine member libraries and seven branches. Position involves working with automation and hardware support vendors to maintain automated library system for fifteen sites, training library staff and providing first-line support to library staff. Demonstrated familiarity with PC hardware, Microsoft office, local area networks, telecommunications, HTML, Java, Windows Exchange Server. Strong web development, teaching, training and communications skills.

Candidates should have a M.L.S from an ALA accredited institution, 2 - 4 years demonstrated experience with library automation (experience with Innovative Interfaces, Inc., a plus), current computer technology experience, plus the ability to quickly learn specialized applications. Valid PA driver's license and personal vehicle.

PUBLIC SERVICES LIBRARIAN, UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON
Requisition 000000707: Part time temporary August 2008 through May 2009; Classification-Professional. Hours are Monday through Thursday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm; Some weekend work may be required. Participates in all Library public service activities including reference, information literacy, collection development, database searching, and verification of interlibrary loan citations. Minimum requirements include a Master's Degree in Library Science and one year professional or pre-professional library experience, familiarity with database searching and knowledge of reference sources and techniques. DIRECTOR OF LIBRARY SERVICES
Misericordia University is now accepting applications for the Director of Library Services. The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction to the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library while integrating the University’s strategic plan into the operation of the library. This person will also be in charge of assessing and meeting information needs of students and faculty and develops programs to stimulate student interest. The qualified candidate must have a vision of the library as the intellectual center within our community and have a commitment to teaching which includes the integration of library resources and services into academic programs. The Library Director will also be responsible for providing leadership for every aspect of library operations to include strategic planning, development and promotion of resources and services, personnel and budget administration.
A Master's degree (M.L.S.) Library Science or equivalent from an ALA accredited institution required; four to ten years related experience and/or training preferably in an academic setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A qualified candidate will also have current knowledge of issues facing higher education and academic libraries (including technology and information literacy). Computer proficiency and experience with basic Internet, spreadsheet, database, and word processing software in a Windows environment is required. Flexible schedule to include evening and weekend work is needed.
